FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention allows for high output of water-absorbing resin with improved proportion of absorbing effect and water-soluble polymer content with account for reverse connection of indicated properties of water-absorbing resin. Polymerisation reaction control is facilitated, and obtained resin is odourless and colourless and shows high absorbing effect. Invention involves neutralisation of composition based on acrylic acid by base composition with iron content of 0.2 to 0.5 weight parts (base composition weight except for solvent), and further polymerisation of obtained neutralised product to obtain cross-linked polymer hydrogel; and acrylic acid-based composition includes (i) metoxyphenol in amount of 10-200 weight parts of acrylic acid weight, and (ii) at least one compound selected out of group including protoanemonin and furfural in amount of 0 to 10 weight parts of acrylic acid weight.

EFFECT: invention includes version involving neutralisation by base composition including iron compound at cross-linked polymer hydrogel stage.
