FIELD: physics, measurements.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to seismology and can be used in forecasting earthquake signs parametres in water reservoirs. To this end, one- and/or three-component acoustic emission receivers are mounted in rocks natural or artificial cavities to measure acoustic oscillations. Acoustic signals are registered to isolate those with their intensities exceeding background magnitudes by kσbgrd> and duration of, at least, one second, while the lowest frequency of oscillations is reduced to the cavity minimum intrinsic frequency. Aforesaid signal is taken to be a sign of coming earthquake before days, hours and minutes. Note here that k=1÷3, σbgrd is the background signal mean square deviation.
EFFECT: higher reliability of forecasting.
