FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an optical fiber which counteracts origination of forced Brillouin scattering to allow transmission of higher-power signals. The optical fiber contains the central core and a cladding on external periphery of the core. The latter contains a layer of additional doping, made from quartz glass not containing fluorine and doped with germanium, and a layer of lower-concentration additional doping made from quartz glass doped with germanium and fluorine. The parametres of refraction of the additional doping layer and that chosen from the layer, doped with germanium and lower-concentration additional doping layer coincide.
EFFECT: optical fiber increasing threshold power in comparison with traditional optical fibers, communication system and system of multiplexing with division over wavelength.
