FIELD: fiber-optical communication lines. SUBSTANCE: optical fiber includes layer with high concentration of germanium placed along center of fiber and showing concentration of 0.1 or more per cent by mass of germanium oxide with reference to total mass of layer with high concentration of germanium and layer with low concentration of germanium located around layer with high concentration and containing germanium oxide with concentration under 0.1 per cent by mass relative to total mass of layer with low concentration of germanium. In compliance with first variant scattering factor of focal power from layer with high concentration of germanium to layer with low concentration of germanium in used band of wave lengths is equal to 0.4% or under relative to total focal power propagated through optical fiber. According to second variant outer diameter of layer with high concentration of germanium is at least 2.6 times greater than diameter of field of mode in utilized range.
