FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: sialography is followed with fixing a metal ball within auriculomasseteric skin region in a projection of mandibular angle and calculating the actual dimensions of structural elements of salivary gland by formula: where x is the actual dimensions of a structural element of salivary gland, a is the metal ball diametre, b is the X-ray dimensions of a structural element on the sialogram, c is the X-ray diametre of the ball image on the sialogram.
EFFECT: method allows eliminating the X-ray distortions on the sialogram and evaluating the actual dimensions of structural elements of salivary gland.
