FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of treatment of household, industrial and other sewage water with application of fluctuant Eichomia crassipes (Water hyacinth) - Eichhornia or water hyacinth, specimen of above surface aquatic vegetation, as filling of artificial or natural hydrobotanical sections. Method for treatment of sewage water consists in supply of sewage water into distribution channel, and then in working channels, in which water moves in laminar mode with the same rate of not more than 5 m/hr, at the temperature of sewage water 23-30°C and air temperature of 25-35°C. At that Eichhornia is planted on water surface in working channels. Method for treatment of sewage water is realised in installation for sewage water treatment comprising distribution channel 1 with intake mesh 2, located above and assembled channel 7 of pure water, which are connected to each other by row of parallel working channels 5 with Eichhornia arranged perpendicularly to distribution channel and channel of pure water and/or installed at an angle to them and equipped with transverse movable partitions 6.

EFFECT: reduction of capital expenses for treatment of sewage water, reduced time required for recoupment of capital investments and reduction of time required for sewage water treatment.
