SUBSTANCE: method of obtaining long flax fibre on breaking and scutching unit includes regulation of rotation frequency of scutching drums. Optimal value of rotation frequency of scutching drums (n) is determined by elaborated algorithm by seeking maximum of complex optimisation parametre 
where output of long fibre B and index of boon amount C are determined depending on value of sliding average flax stock moisture (MA) by formulas B= 47.9 - 0.021x n - 0.992 x MA; C= 34.5 - 0.074 x n - 0.28 x MA.
EFFECT: increasing long fibre output.
