FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the designing and making of antennas. In the method the initial amplitude field distribution is determined first according to the function "cosine on a pedestal", then the quiescent pattern (QP) and its corresponding aperture efficiency (AE) of its antenna panel are calculated. Then the procedure of optimisation of the antenna, which consists of stages of selection - iteration is carried out. The amplitude field distribution is first determined in each of the iterations, for which a value of the amplitude is assigned for each of the transmitters, and then the quiescent pattern and its corresponding aperture efficiency and the side-lode level are determined. The number of iteration is determined by finding the quasi-optimal quiescent pattern, which possesses, in comparison to the initial quiescent pattern, maximum aperture efficiency, and its side-lode level does not exceed the assigned side-lode level.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of designing antennas and reduction in the designing time, finding a diagram of quasi-optimal quiescent pattern with 30-50 dB and gaining 6-12% aperture efficiency, including in the presence of non-radiating elements.
