FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to electrical engineering and is meant for step motor drives. The step motor has a stator with a winding, consisting of separate coils on its teeth. The rotor comprises an electrically conducting part in form of a cylinder, with a diametric opening on its whole length. On the stator teeth there are two coils, the leads of which are connected to a reed relay, the coils of which are connected to a switching device, providing for simultaneous closing of at least four coils, put on four neighbouring stator teeth and forming an arc-shaped row. On the first two teeth, closed coils shield the right part in anticlockwise direction, and on the next two teeth, closed coils shield the left part. For the first step of the rotor, the switching device opens the coils on the left part of the last tooth, and to end the step, it opens the coils on the first tooth of the row, opens coils on the left part of the third tooth and closes the coils on its right part. Besides that coils are closed on the left side of the tooth, next after the last tooth of the first row.
EFFECT: provision for operation on a mono-phase network.
