FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to technology for repair of transport means, namely to repair of car body, and may be used in railway transport. Method for repair of car body consists in the fact that repaired surface is prepared. Area affected by corrosion is cut to make hole. Inside body along perimetre of cut hole steel pads (6, 7) in the form of planks are glued as overlapping. One edge of planks is adhered to body, the other edge is left unoccupied. Insert (8) is manufactured, size of which corresponds to size of cut hole. Glue is applied on sections of inserts coupled with free edges of planks. Insert is inserted in hole and glued to free edges of planks.
EFFECT: increased service life of rolling stock and increased quality of repair works.
