FIELD: physics; measurement.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to experimental aerodynamics of aircraft and can be used in aerodynamic tests of models of different types of aircraft in air tunnels. The method involves combined harmonic linear and angular oscillation of models in a stream in an air tunnel. Values of amplitude of oscillation and phase between linear and angular oscillations of models are chosen. The device contains a mounting for the model, placed on the upper end of a vertical shaft, a linear oscillation mechanism for the model and an angular oscillation mechanism for the model. The linear oscillation mechanism for the model comprises a motor and a device for converting rotation of the shaft of the motor in to linear oscillations of the model and is in form of a sine mechanism, the crank arm of which has a regulated radius. The linear oscillation mechanism of the model is connected to the angular oscillation mechanism of the model, containing a sine mechanism, the crank arm of which is rigidly attached to the end journal of the crank arm of the linear oscillation mechanism of the model. The axis of angular oscillations is parallel to the axis of the end journal of the crank arm of the linear oscillation mechanism and is shifted on the normal to the crank arm of this mechanism at a given distance. The design of the linear and angular oscillation mechanisms provides for satisfying the required conditions for equation of phase shift φ of linear and angular oscillation to φ=90°.

EFFECT: possibility of simultaneous measurement of separate values of rotation and non-stationary derivatives of aerodynamic forces and moments, as well as more capabilities of experimental tests in air tunnels.
