FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ecology and environmental cleaning and can be used in the treatment of ground and surface water in the processes of extracting antimony from deposits, as well as in production of ceramics, accumulators, fire retardants, catalysts and pigments. Disclosed is use of composite material of composition Fex(O,OH)y-SiO2 for sorption of antimony (III) ions in static conditions from aqueous solutions in ratio of solid and liquid phases 1:1000 at room temperature. Composite material is obtained by treating rice husks with 0.1 M hydrochloric acid solution, washing, drying and burning precipitate at 600 °C to obtain amorphous silica, further impregnation of the obtained silica with 6 wt.% aqueous solution of iron (III) oxalate and calcination of the obtained composite at 400 °C.
EFFECT: invention widens the list of sorbents for extracting antimony (III) ions from natural and industrial waters contaminated with antimony (III), formed in the area of antimony deposits during weathering and development processes, as well as to expand versions of safe disposal of agricultural wastes from rice production, that are husks, which reduces emissions of microdispersed amorphous silica (SiO2) into atmosphere.
