FIELD: production processes.
SUBSTANCE: device designed to set plastic preforms into required state, namely, to cool them down, comprises a rotary rack with cavities to receive preforms partially, via the hole arranged in rack first side (A) and, partially, via that on rack second side (B). Note that rack first side (A) is furnished with appropriate holes receiving preforms that belong to the fist cavities, while rack side (B) that faces aforesaid first side (A), that is opposite the first side, has the holes receiving preforms that belong to the second cavities. The preform cooling cavities open on fist side (A) are arranged to have a part of their length (L1) is located nearby the recesses open on second side (B) on, at least, part of their length (L1) to make the rack more compact. The method of setting multiple preforms into required state comprises the following steps, i.e. device first side (A) is located to be directed upward. Then, the rotary rack is placed between two open halves (S) of heated mould. At least, one group of molded preforms is transferred from the mould into the rack fill, once more, at least a part of the cavities that belong to the first side (A). Now, the rotary rack is withdrawn from two open halves of the mould and turn the rack again to have the second side (B) turned upward.
EFFECT: longer cycle of moulding thanks to molded preform cooling effected outside mould.
