FIELD: production processes.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method requires nether sophisticated equipment nor long process cycle. It comprises dispersing refractory fibers with binder, producing moulding blank by vacuum filtration, drying and burning the resulted blank. Dispersion of refractory fibers is carried out in two steps, i.e. during the first step, the said fibers are first dispersed in water with fiber concentration making 0.5 to 1.0 wt % to produce fiber length-to-diametre aspect ratio l/d=50 to 130. Then, a portion of water is removed to produce suspension concentration of 4 to 8 wt %. During the dispersion second step is carried out without varying the said aspect ration, but with adding the binder.

EFFECT: ceramic material with equal-density isotropic structure, lower specific weight and lower heat conductivity.
