FIELD: ceramic fibrous composite structure and methods of production of such structures; ceramic fibrous composite filters suitable for cleaning high- temperature gases. SUBSTANCE: ceramic fibrous composite structure or filter is obtained by method where continuous ceramic fiber in form of filament is wound on porous vacuum mandrel at simultaneous application of diluted suspension of staple ceramic fibers on it. Thus, ceramic fibrous composite blank is obtained where continuous ceramic fiber is tightly surrounded by stapled ceramic fibers. Blank is impregnated by different ceramic binders; excessive binder is removed. Then, blank is subjected to drying and burning to form binding phase at points of contact interaction with fibers. Technological parameters, for example, tension of fiber, winding pitch and relative proportions of continuous ceramic fibers and stapled ceramic fibers may be changed when continuous ceramic fiber and stapled ceramic are simultaneously applied on porous vacuum mandrel for obtaining required distribution of continuous ceramic fiber and stapled ceramic fibers in ceramic fibrous composite structure or filter.
