FIELD: biotechnologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to microbiological industry and biotechnology. XC-17 strain is obtained as a result of selection of virus extracted from caterpillars that were gathered on cotton fields of Tadzhikistan and died in the laboratory of spontaneous polyhedrose. XC-17 strain of NPV is deposited at the scientific research institute "Microorganism culture collection" of the state scientific centre of inframicrobiology and biotechnologies "Vector" with registration number VB-06. Biological activity of XC-17 strain is (1-2)×102 polyhedrons/1 caterpillar, and biological effect of the insecticide based on XC-17 strain is 88-92%.
EFFECT: strain can be used for producing biological insecticides to be used in agricultural industry.
