FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to internal combustion engines. Combustion chamber of internal combustion engine, formed by cylinder, cylinder head with additional chamber located in it, piston having ledge entering additional chamber, and annular cavity inside piston, connected with combustion chamber by annular nozzle, wherein annular groove is made in piston, in which split ring is made, which is made of material with shape memory effect, which closes annular nozzle connecting engine annular cavity with volume of combustion chamber located above piston during engine start-up.
EFFECT: invention provides higher reliability of engine start-up by reducing working body cooling during start-up period.
