FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compression ignition internal combustion engines (ICE). The proposed invention consists in that the engine comprises consecutively jointed modules, each including low-, medium- and high-pressure units. The high-pressure unit comprises cylinder, jet and two pistons. The high-pressure unit intake valves are connected to the automatic phase shift mechanism. Each aforesaid module comprises two main groups operating in counter phase. The low-pressure unit communicates with the medium-pressure unit via intake and outlet channels which allows combining the advantages of two- and four-stroke engines.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
