FIELD: conveyor engineering.

SUBSTANCE: roller consists of cylindrical shell (1), bearing assemblies, bearings (3), external seals (6), and axis (4) with annular grooves and seals. Roller is equipped with stop mechanism consisting of bush (9) rigidly fixed on axis and having wedge slots (10) and annular groove (11) on external surface, in which under wide part of wedge slots there located are bending springs (12) fixed in the bush, rollers (13) located in wide part of wedge slots of the bush and pressed with the bending spring to narrow part of wedge slots of the bush, and ring springs (14) installed in grooves on bush cylindrical surface along the diametre equal to diametre of roller rotation centre location.

EFFECT: increasing life time of bearing assemblies and enlarging functional capabilities of roller owing to mechanism for retaining conveyor belt at its break.
