FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of mineral substances and concerns production processes of cordierite refractories from mixture of clay, periclase and aluminium oxide. The method including preparation of batch mixture, moulding, drying is characterised in that batch mixture consisting of high melting clay, periclase and aluminium oxide is exposed to joint mechanoactivation in high energy intensive grinding device during 90 seconds at the weight ratio of activated material and grinding bodies 1:15, and before adding in batch mixture periclase is exposed to mechnoactivation in dry conditions in planetary mill till specific surface area of periclase is 18.2 m2/g.
EFFECT: reduction in price of cordierite mass due to using local, cheap materials, increase in yield and improvement of cordierite quality.
