FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of radioactive wastes, particularly uranium and beryllium compositions with extracting uranium and radiation safe beryllium applicable in economics, precisely to method of beryllium preparation from beryllium condensate derived during processing of uranium and beryllium composition. The method includes vacuum distillation of beryllium condensate at pressure not higher than 1·10-4 mm Hg and temperature of 1400-1500°C till 70-80% of beryllium from total quantity of distilled beryllium condensate is extracted and distillation is interrupted. Thereafter, surface layer of beryllium condensate residues are mechanically removed from the side of vaporation during distillation to the depth of 20-25%, then the second distillation at pressure 1·10-4 mm Hg and temperature not higher than 1400-1500°C is carried out.
EFFECT: decrease of uranium content in distilled beryllium to the safe level.
