FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed sensor for detecting laboratory contamination is based on a quartz crystal resonator with mesogenic polymorphous coating, in liquid-crystal state. The coating of the quartz crystal resonator used is: 4-n-amylphenyl ether 4'-n-hexyloxy-phenylcyclohexane-2-carboxylic acid; 4-n-amylphenyl ether 4'-n-heptyloxy- phenylcyclohexane-2-carboxylic acid; 4-n-amylphenyl ether 4'-n-octyloxy- phenylcyclohexane-2-carboxylic acid; 4-n-amylphenyl ether 4'-n-nonyloxy- phenylcyclohexane-2-carboxylic acid.
EFFECT: increased selective sensitivity of the sensor based on quartz crystal resonator to presence of vapours of organic solvents and reduced energy consumption.
