FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to processing digital data using electric devices, and more specifically to design of pointing devices which are moved by the user. The "mouse" pointing device has a housing (1), on which there are one or several keys or buttons (2), an inner restraining device (4), apparatus (5) for controlling the inner restraining device and apparatus (6) for interfacing the "mouse" with the computer. The restraining device (4) consists of elements (3), designed for holding keys and/or buttons in upper (not pressed) and lower (pressed) positions. Apparatus (5) for controlling the restraining device (4) are in form of buttons and/or sensors on the lateral side of the housing (1).
EFFECT: improved quality of cleaning the housing and keys, increased reliability of operation and longer service life.
