SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to wireless communication and can be used in a high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) channel system in universal mobile telecommunication system (UMTS). The method of processing data blocks in a mobile communication system involves reception of data blocks, associated with an index number, determination of whether the index number of received blocks is outside the boundaries of a recipient's window, comparison of the index number of the next expected transfer (NET) with the range of the updated recipient's window, when it is established that, the index number of the received data blocks is outside the boundaries of the recipient's window, and assignment of the index number of the next expected transfer (NET) such that, the index number of the next expected transfer (NET) falls in the range of the updated recipient's window, if comparison shows that the index number of the next expected transfer (NET) lies outside the range of updated recipient's window.
EFFECT: prevention of undesirable delays in delivering data blocks to achieve high-speed data transfer.
