FIELD: livestock farming.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to livestock farming. The method consists in evaluation of basic indices of protein metabolism in organism of an animal. Further there is performed calculation of growth index on base of albumen, globulin and aminotransferase concentrations. At value of G1 (growth index) 0.78-0.86 day average live weight gain of animals will exceed 800 g, while at value of G1 1.12-1.27 it will be less 800 g. Growth index is determined according to formula: G1=A1b·"АсАТ"/G1·"АлАТ", where G1 is growth index; A1b is concentration of albumen in blood serum, g/l, G1 is concentration of globulins in blood serum, g/l, "АсАТ" is catalyst activity of aspartate-aminotransferase, mccat/l; " АлАТ" is catalyst activity of alanine-aminotransferase, mccat/l.
EFFECT: method facilitates objective and accurate forecast of daily average live weight gain of bull calves in first after birth months already.
