FIELD: cattle breeding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to livestock areas, in particular to a method for selecting bulls with a high growth potential by elemental hair composition. Method involves determining the concentration of chemical elements: calcium, zinc, copper and manganese. At a concentration of calcium, zinc, copper and manganese, respectively, mcg/g: 1,821.4–2,235.0, 78.2–93.6, 4.0–4.7 and 29.5–37.8 proposed productivity estimate for the average daily increase is 700–800 g; at a concentration, mcg/g: 2,235.1–2,627.6, 93.7–104.3, 4.8–5.3, 37.9–46.4 proposed productivity assessment at the level of 801–900 g; at a concentration, mcg/g: 2,627.7–3,053.0, 104.4–114.6, 5.4–6.3, 46.5–54.2 proposed evaluation of productivity at the level of 901 g or more.
EFFECT: use of the invention will allow selecting animals with a high growth potential.
