FIELD: heating.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering. The proposed method of controlling re-cooling towers set, via distributing cold water load between re-cooling towers in compliance with their cooling performance, comprises measuring hot water temperature flow rate at the towers inlets, cold water temperature at the towers outlets. In further comprises measuring the wet-bulb temperature and ambient air barometric pressure, wet-bulb air temperature at outlets of re-cooling towers, hot water pressure at the towers outlet and that at their inlet. It includes also determining the cooling performance from barometric pressure, hot and cold water temperature, wet-bulb temperature of ambient air and air coming our from the re-cooling towers. The method incorporated determining the mean cooling performance, hot water mass flow rate at towers inlet from volume flow, temperature and pressure, and distributing total mass flow rate between towers depending upon tower cooling performance-to-its mean value ratio. The fan shaft RPM and active electric power consumed by its drive are measured. Mass airflow rate, factors of dependence of active electric power and cooling performance upon water and air flow rates are calculated. The optimum air flow rate is determined and, allowing for measured fan shaft RPM, the optimum RPM id defined by minimising active electric power at optimum water flow rate and provided that preset cold water temperature requirements are met in compliance with aforesaid ratio.
EFFECT: minimised electric power consumption.
