FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the method of producing a catalyst for catalytic desulphuration of hydrocarbon streams. Described is a method of producing a catalyst for desulphuration of hydrocarbon streams, involving the following stages: a) obtaining an aqueous suspension, containing: thermally decomposable source of copper, thermally decomposable source of molybdenum, solid zinc source; b) heating the suspension to a temperature at which decompose the said thermally decomposable sources of copper and molybdenum so that, the suspension will contain a precipitate, which contains zinc, copper and molybdenum compounds; c) cooling the suspension obtained from stage (b); d) separating the precipitate from the suspension; e) drying the precipitate; f) calcinating the dried precipitate. Before obtaining the precipitate, the aqueous suspension is finely ground up. Described also is a catalyst for desulphuration of hydrocarbon streams, obtained using the method described above and use of the said catalyst.
EFFECT: obtaining a catalyst wit high activity for reducing organic sulphur compounds, and a sulphur absorber, with high affinity to sulphur and high absorbing capacity.
