FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method includes grinding of raw materials, loading of ground raw materials into device, distillation of essential oil with water steam flow and unloading of spent raw materials. Previously raw materials are moistened before or after its grinding by means of mixing with water, which is supplied in amount of 50-150% from raw materials weight, then moistened raw materials are heated in distillation device, and part of added water is evaporated until temperature of raw materials makes 102-105°C, afterwards essential oil is distillated at the temperature in device that exceeds temperature of water steam condensation.
EFFECT: more complete distillation of essential oil from raw materials, higher portion of high-boiling oxygen containing components in composition of essential oil, lower carryover of ground raw materials particles from device by water steam flow, no necessity in drying of spent raw materials.
