FIELD: essential oil industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the essential oil industry. Method for obtaining essential oil from freshly harvested clary sage raw in batch distillation apparatuses, comprising raw grinding, charging the crushed raw into the apparatus, distilling the essential oil with a stream of water vapor and discharging the waste material, cooling the mixture of water vapor and essential oil to the liquid state, followed by separation into essential oil and water. In this case, before the distillation, the apparatus is preheated with a microwave field at a frequency of 300 MHz, a power of 500–10,000 W/kg for 20–30 minutes to the temperature of the raw material 102–105 °C, while partial distilling of the essential oil is carried out at a raw material temperature exceeding the condensation temperature of the water vapor, where they condense, and in the receiver-oil separator the essential oil is separated from the distillation water, then the distillation is carried out by feeding an acute saturated steam.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the content of linalyl acetate, to reduce the acid number in the obtained clary sage essential oil.
