FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determination of very low concentration of iron (III) in solutions of pure salts. The method is characterised by that, to a solution of iron (III) with pH 5.6-6.8 is added 260-360-times amount of glycylthymol blue, 0.1-0.8 ml of a solution of surface active substance, obtained from addition to 0.2 ml of monoalkyl ester of polyethylene glycol, based on polymer distillate, of water to 100 ml, and water to 10 ml with subsequent heating on a water bath at temperature 80-98°C for 3-8 minutes.
EFFECT: increased selectivity of analysis.
