FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves conversion of iron (III) into a complex compound with glycyl thymol blue and a surfactant in a weakly acidic medium, followed by heating on a water bath, wherein the iron (III) solution at pH 5.0-6.5 is mixed with a 700-800 fold amount of glycyl thymol blue, 0.2-0.4 ml solution of a surfactant obtained by adding water to 0.2 g of tridecyl alcohol until volume equals 100 ml, and water up to 10 ml volume.
EFFECT: high sensitivity of analysis.
