FIELD: computer engineering.

SUBSTANCE: essence of the invention lies in comparison of predicted and real traffic using the Pearson criterion. For this purpose the procedure of calculating mathematical expectation of the arrival time of traffic units, procedure of calculating autocorrelation function and autoregression coefficient and the procedure of predicting arrival time of the next traffic unit are carried out. Due to use of the given procedures, there is provision for determining degree of conformity of standard and real profiles of the behaviour load source and making decisions on the need for controlling elements of the information-computer network.

EFFECT: increased degree of data adequacy on state of information-computer channels.
