FIELD: medicine; surgery.

SUBSTANCE: computed tomography guided localisation, size and structure of a focal lesion are preevaluated herewith specifying an optimal puncture point. Puncture biopsy of the focal lesion is performed with using a biopsy needle or biopsy pistol. Puncture involves needle passage of length not exceeding 20 cm, with a mandrin of diametre equal to that of the biopsy needle, to the focal lesion border after needle passage to the focal lesion border. The patient is taken out from the tomograph aperture, while the mandrin is removed from the needle. And the biopsy needle with the biopsy pistol attached is inserted through the needle at a depth equal to the mandrin length. Biopsy material is sampled. The biopsy needle with the biopsy pistol is removed, and sampled biopsy material is sent for analysis.

EFFECT: extended diagnostic capacities at reduced risk of complications, time expenditures and radiation exposure on the patient.
