FIELD: energetics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric power engineering and can be used during construction of overhead power transmission line for protection against harmful modes of icing and "shudder" of wires in areas, subjected to ice - wind loadings. Power line wire contains core, convoluted of steel wires, over which there are located layers of aluminium wires and allowing periodically located lengthwise the wire sections with increased rigidity, and specified sections are formed by thermally hardened wire of steel core. Thermally hardened sections located in external layer of wire allows total active and inductive impedance more for one, two and more degrees, than resistance of the rest wires.
EFFECT: increasing of power lines wires maintainability by means of prevention of formation of coating of ice and excluding of harmful modes of icing and wires "shudder".
