FIELD: communication devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to soft handover in communication systems. Invented is a method of soft handover between different networks. A first communication line through the first network is used for communication between the first user agent and the second user agent. The user agents coordinate use of the second communication line for the same call. The second communication line is established through the second network between the first user agent and the second user agent while maintaining the first communication line. Related data are sent on the first communication line and the second communication line such that, related data are meant for that same call. The first communication line is broken and communication continues using the second communication line.

EFFECT: possibility of switching over a network or device during a call or session without losing that call or session.
