FIELD: railway machinery.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to locomotives incorporating gas turbine engine running on liquefied natural gas. Gas turbine locomotive comprises housing with cover and side walls, main power plant made up of two gas turbine engines articulated with auxiliary diesel. There is a Stirling engine mounted behind the turbine of each gas turbine engine in engine nacelles attached to appropriate side wall of locomotive housing. Gas turbine locomotive power plant represents a gas turbine engine comprising the first and second loops, inner and outer shafts with blower fitted on the inner shaft and a compressor fitted on outer shaft, and, at least, one vane wheel rotor fitted on outer shaft. There is a combustion chamber arranged between the compressor and turbine, air intake, turbine and jet nozzle. Aforesaid Stirling engine is articulated with inner shaft and communicates, via heat carrier circulation lines, with the outer combustion chamber. The said engine is made up of two groups of cylinders, i.e. working and piston cylinders. Note here that working cylinders are arranged in the first loops, while the expansion cylinders are arranged in the second loop. Air branch pipes are connected to the Stirling engine, their ends being brought out into atmosphere.
EFFECT: higher reliability and safety.
