SUBSTANCE: gas turbine vehicle propulsion unit incorporates a gas turbine engine comprising an engine shaft, a compressor, a combustion chamber, a turbine communicating, via a gas line, with the free turbine, its shaft being linked to the generator shaft, and an exhaust device. The propulsion unit incorporates also a Stirling engine arranged behind the free turbine first stage wheel and a heat exchanger-gasifier connected to the combustion chamber.
