FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed nuclear gas turbine locomotive comprises nuclear and gas turbine sections that have running gear and body with sidewalls and roof mounted on wheel pairs. Aforesaid nuclear section houses nuclear reactor, while gas turbine section accommodates gas turbine drive coupled, via shaft, with traction generator connected with drive electric motors. Sections communicate via second-loop circulation pipelines. Gas turbine section accommodate two air intakes communicating, via air ducts, with gas turbine drive air intake. Shutter is arranged between power plant combustion chamber and compressor. Stirling engine with working and expansion cylinders is fitted on shaft behind the turbine. Note here that shutter chambers and those ahead of working cylinders communicate via bypass lines with second-loop heat exchanger. Expansion cylinders are fitted behind the fan.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
