FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method envisages a conic blank spinning with the help of a lath-type tool. The tool employed is represented by a hob cutter relocated so that to maintain continuous contact of the cutter separation plane with the blank along the curved line of variation in shift of the tool original profile relative to the blank width as described by the given equation.
EFFECT: improved precision of the gear toothing.
