FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method of hydroxylamine sulfate (HAS) production includes HAS synthesis by reduction of NO, obtained by preliminary vapour-oxygen conversion of ammonia, with hydrogen in solution of sulfuric acid on catalyst, removal of tail gas from synthesis reactors for purification from nitrogen oxides by burning, purification from nitrogen oxides of preliminarily washed with water tail gas, after mixing it with dispersed water with weight ratio tail gas : water equal to 5-6 : 1, and with air oxygen, on condition of total volume content of nitrogen oxides and oxygen in tail gas equal 5,2 > C N2O, % vol./4 + C NO, % vol./8 + C O2, % vol. > 4 with excess of oxygen, being carried out by partial burning of tail gas changing its volume in direct circular cycle, including gas expansion when it is introduced into chamber with initial pressure being higher than atmospheric, compression with ensuring final temperature not higher than 150°C, spark ignition and expansion of burned tail gas with formation of additional energy, removal of purified gas with reduction of volume under pressure higher than atmospheric, containing H2, N2 and H2O, with further cooling and isolation from it of reaction water, after which hydrogen is additionally introduced into gas in order to ensure volume ratio H2 : N2, equal 3 : 1, and mixture is directed into ammonia production.

EFFECT: method allows to remove nitrogen oxides from tail gases with their partial burning with further use of components of purified gas in production of HAS or ammonia.
