FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, particularly dealing with methods of steel production in arc steel-making furnaces. The proposed method envisages the following activities: charge of scrap metal into an arc steel-making furnace, hot-metal charging, metal stock meltdown, carbon oxidation with gaseous oxygen combined with removal of phosphorus from the steel, skimming slag over the sill plate, tapping steel into the ladle combined with furnace slag cutoff and steel chemical composition finalisation. During the metal stock meltdown a mixture is added thereto containing loose dead-burned magnesite with a grain size of 1-10 mm and lime, the magnesite-to-lime ratio of the mixture being 1:(3.2-8.0) in an amount of 3.5-7.8% of the heat size until concentration of MgO and CaO in the slag comes to be equal to 6-17% and 30-60% accordingly. Gaseous oxygen blowing is done until concentration of FeO in the slag comes to be equal to 13-43%. When the steel is tapped into the ladle one provides for admixture of lime and calcium fluoride in an amount of 0.6-2.0% and 0.1-0.3% of the melted steel weight accordingly and the steel chemical composition finalisation in a LF type installation.
EFFECT: invention enables improvement of the furnace lining performance, reduction of ferrous alloys expenditure, enhancement of mechanical performance and reduction of steel melting costs.
