FIELD: physics, measurements.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in devices for measurement of speed and discharge, and also in devices for definition of liquid and gaseous mediums density and their composition. Ultrasonic transducer comprises body with piezoelectric cell installed in it and joined via transition layers to damper and membrane. In one version external surface of flat membrane loaded by measured medium is beveled at the angle of β1 ≤ β < β2. Angles β1 and β2 are defined by given mathematical formula that includes ratio of ultrasound speeds in measured medium and membrane material. In other version membrane has the shape of cone or polyhedral pyramid with top inverted to measured medium. Angle of cone and angle of cone inserted into polyhedral pyramid is α=180°-2β. Membrane and body of transducer may be made of similar or different materials.
EFFECT: provides for higher accuracy of measurements due to lowering of level of reverberation signals and lower distortion of useful signal.
