FIELD: physics, measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to control of pipelines. Apparatus comprises body, the first and second circumferential distanced magnets of opposite polarities, which are arranged on apparatus body. Magnets provide for magnetic saturation of pipeline area between them. The first metering instruments are installed on apparatus body between magnets and are arranged with the possibility of generation of signals that react to flux dispersion for generation of the first information related to abnormalities on internal and/or external surface of pipeline. The second metering instruments are installed on apparatus body between magnets and are arranged with the possibility of generation of signals that react to vortex currents induced in internal surface of pipeline for generation of the second information related to abnormalities on internal surface of pipeline. Circuit of signals processing is intended for combination of the first and second signals. Besides the second metering instruments are excited only in response to signals generated by circuit of signals processing.
