FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: device of pipeline control includes two pole magnets aligned at an inclined angle relative to a central longitudinal axis of the device body. The matrix of sets of sensor coils is arranged between opposite edges of two pole magnets and is aligned perpendicularly to the central longitudinal axis. Each set of sensor coils includes a transmitting coil and two opposite pairs of receiving coils, which are strobed to receive reflections from the tubular element wall. Since a line of sensor coils is turned relative to magnetising field, receiving coils are on one line with transmitting coils and have the same angular orientation.
EFFECT: device provides for improved sensitivity to small defects, considerable reduction of requirements of pulse generator capacity, full coverage along circumference, self-calibration of a transmitted signal and lower mutual impact between transmitting coils caused by an acoustic ring around.
