FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, more specifically to power current sensors. The optical-electronic current sensor consists of a sensing device, coding unit, optical communication channel between the high-voltage side of the circuit of measured current and earth potential, receiving unit and power supply, as well as a system of units and devices for power transmission from the earth potential side to the high-voltage side. Discovered is the interrelationship of signal transmission from a current sensing device to a receiving unit and power transmission from a power supply to a coding unit.
EFFECT: power transmission from earth potential for powering a coding unit, which is at high-voltage, under condition for maintaining insulation level and complete electrical isolation of the high-voltage circuit from the earth potential.
