SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrumentation, in particular, to instruments for AC / DC measurement using digital measurement technique, at voltages of 10 kV to 1500 kV mainly. Optoelectronic current metering device comprises a current transducer, an analogue-to-digital converter and transmitter located inside a wireway under high-voltage potential. The device transmits measured current data in digital form via optical channel.

EFFECT: simplified design of the device, decreased weight and dimensions, improved measurement accuarcy and operational reliability as regards to high-voltage insulation, pulse electromagnetic interference protection of digital metering section and errors caused by nonuniform heating.
