SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering, particularly to methods of adapting pilot structure and protection interval length to varying channel conditions in multi-frequency radio communication system (OFDM). For this protection interval length and pilot symbol density are adapted in OFDM signal time and frequency ranges. Adaption proceeds from fading frequency and propagation channel response pulse length.

EFFECT: higher spectral efficiency of OFDM radio communication system operated in time-varying frequency-selective channels.
