FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to surgical armaments and can be used for dilatation of wound tracts and hollow organs. A dilator comprises at least one section made of metal with shape memory effect and a cylindrical wire case that is formed by longitudinal elements. The longitudinal elements are equispaced along the appropriate cylindrical surface and tandem interrelated by transverse elements and integrated thereto. The case is provided with at least one corrugation facing the case axis. Said corrugation is formed by arches facing the case axis and formed on each longitudinal element and equispaced from the appropriate case edge. Each arch is formed by zone plastic deformation with an appropriate segment of the longitudinal element being drawn out and necked through pressure shaping. The arch depth exceeds the longitudinal elements towards drawing out at least in 1.2 times.
EFFECT: application of the invention provides good compatibility of the dilator with curved parts of tubular cavities within patient's body.
