FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine, namely ophthalmology. Sclera is exposed to focused Nd-YAG laser beam of power 5 - 10 mJ with exposure area divided into 6 quadrants. Three lines of 20-25 pulses with line spacing 1-2 mm are transmitted in an avascular region of each area said above in the meridional direction. Exposure is sequentially circle-wise from upper to lower nasal quadrants to ensure hypotensive effect.
EFFECT: method provides formation of a puncture within sclera tissue, changes its elastic properties, increases filtration of intraocular fluid, and allows for consistent pain management.
